Professional Tennis Racket Restringing Services in Wickford

Updated: Dec 3

Maintaining optimal performance on the tennis court requires regular racket restringing. At Wickford Lawn Tennis Club, we offer professional restringing services to ensure your equipment is always in top condition.

Restringing Services and Pricing:

  • Premium Restringing Service: We use Luxilon Savage strings, known for their exceptional spin potential and control, providing professional restringing for £30.

  • Restringing with Your Own Strings: If you prefer to supply your own strings, our restringing service is available for £15.

Why Regular Restringing is Important:

Over time, racket strings lose tension and elasticity, which can negatively impact your game. Regular restringing helps maintain:

  • Optimal Tension: Ensures consistent power and control.

  • Enhanced Playability: Provides better feel and responsiveness.

  • Injury Prevention: Reduces the risk of arm injuries by offering appropriate feedback and shock absorption.

When to Restring Your Racket:

The frequency of restringing depends on your playing habits:

  • 1-2 Times per Week: Restring every 6 months.

  • 3 Times per Week: Restring every 4 months.

  • 4 Times per Week: Restring every 3 months.

  • 5 or More Times per Week: Restring every 2 months.

Alternatively, a general guideline is to restring your racket after every 40 hours of play.

Signs Your Racket Needs Restringing:

  • Frayed Strings: Visible fraying indicates that a string is close to breaking and requires immediate attention.

  • Loss of Tension: A decrease in string tension can lead to a 'dead' or lifeless feel, necessitating harder swings to achieve depth, and resulting in fewer solid contacts.

  • Changed Sound: A noticeable difference in the sound upon ball contact can signal diminished string tension.

By adhering to these guidelines and utilizing our professional restringing services, you can ensure your racket remains in top condition, supporting your best performance on the court.
